A keen adventurer and explorer, Alun enjoyed travelling the world, sampling beer and watching rugby with his companions. Meeting new people brought him much joy and as a result, Alun was not short of friends all over the world. A long career in the RAF also forged a strong team of brotherly bonds with which Alun will always be a part of. 

Alun was formally diagnosed with PSP in January 2019 after what had been an initial diagnosis of Parkinsons Disease over 2yrs previously. Aluns health deteriorated quickly before any of his family could really get to grips with what PSP was.

Leaving one daughter behind, a doting mother and 3 siblings, Alun was taken far too soon in June 2019 at the age of 54. His family believe it is paramount to help fund further research into this aggressive disease in order to spread awareness and reduce the number of people who sadly fall victim to PSP.
